THE
REFRIGERATOR CANADA FANCY ART APPRECIATION MONSTER MUDDERS? RULES FOR TEACHERS |
Here you may take a look at some of my columns. I contributed a weekly column to the editorial page of The Lake News for three years, between 1983 and 1986.
I had already written several humorous feature stories on a variety of subjects before venturing to suggest to my editor that I might try producing a weekly column to fill a hole left on the editorial page by the unexpected departure of our regular columnist. He liked the sample I gave him, and that was that.
The response was gratifying, earning me a mention in the comments given following the national newspaper competitions. Closer to home, readers would stop me on the street or at the laundromat to tell me how much they enjoyed my work.
I liked writing a weekly column, but in the process, I also learned that it can be a real challenge for a reporter who has regular beats to cover.
